I've been riding a DiSSent for about a year and I love it. Its my third SS and second 29er and its the best of the bunch. It's light, stiff and handles great. I haven't had any trouble with the sliding drops. I got prompt service from the psyclestore and have no complaints.
I was on a quest to build up as perfect a bike as I could for my local trails. They're smooth by New England standards with lots of quick ups and downs and tight corners. I feel completely satisfied with the DiSSent. I still look at my bike after a great ride and think "Damn I love this bike"

This isn't my first 29'er SS, so I promised myself that I wouldn't be "that guy" and post an awesome review after only 1 real ride on the diSSent (AL)--nope, I was gonna hold out for a thorough multi-phase, month-long (at least) critical review. BUT I just can't hold myself back...THIS BIKE ROCKS! It looks sharp without being obnoxiously flashy. After minimal trail-side dialing-in, the bike quickly felt familiar and comfortable. It's FAST, smooth, has a nice tight feel & great handling. Very responsive & stable--not even close to unstable at slow speed or twitchy at a fast clip. It freakin' rails corners! 29'er nay-sayers need to throw a leg over a diSSent to clear the misconception that big wheel bikes are slow, cumbersome, and ill-handling. I have no doubt that this bike will stand the test of time! Well done Misfit--A great, "no BS" bike at a damn good price!

ive been riding my dissent al for this season and have been having a blast, it is truly the biggest baddest ss on the market, buy one you wont regret it. customer service is top notch, the only complaint i have with the bike is that its so bad ass that while im on the trail i spend more time answering questions about the bike, because no one has seen one of these beaut's. so get ready to do some pr for the evil empire because your gonna get the looks and the questions.
this bike will make you feel like your better than you really are, so use at your own risk!!!
evil empire get's 5 stars for sure!

A fug! I wrote "starts" when I meant "stares"
too much beer.
Peter, please edit my last entry, and delete this one. Thanks a ton!
PETER'S NOTE: I will not delete this review. The starts are pretty and the content of your "REVIEW" is factual...

I used to be the kind of person who starts looking lustfully at friends' bikes when they "upgrade" to the newest model, and wasted a lot of time considering pivot locations and cable routing; bob vs. compliance vs. what-have-you. I could care less about all that shit now. I have been riding one of these Al DiSSents for two+ years, and still have zero interest in buying anything else. This, from someone who was previously buying a bike a year for a few years running.

I got this bike at the end of August and have been enjoying it ever since. Coming from a full suspension (geared) bike, this bike has put new excitement into my rides. The two big things I've noticed is the handling and responsiveness. The handling is great - even though it's got 29" wheels and I'm riding the XL version it's got a tighter turning radius than my old 26" wheeled bike yet feels stable. The responsiveness is awesome: when you hammer down - the bike really flies forward. Much different than my old squishy bike.
Many thanks to Peter for being patient with all my questions. This bike is FUN FUN FUN to ride.

I have ridden this AWESOME machine for quite a few long rides now and it gets better everytime. This was my 1st SS and 29er, anbd all I can say is I got it right on the 1st try. Peter is one super guy to work with, and will bend over backwards to help you out. I was in Iraq and he went above and beyond to help me in anyway. This bike is fast, handles extremely well, and just flat out makes riding fun. I have not felt this good on a bike in a long time. I Salute Peter and Misfit Psycles!

I have to say that my Dissent is one of the fastest singlespeeds I have owned and is the most fun to ride. Peter and company have a true beauty of a product here. I have a smile on my face every time i ride this bike,it does the job asked of it just point where you want to go and off you are. Thank you Peter for bringing back the joy of riding I couldn't be more happier with my new fast machine. Buy a Misfit. They ROCK.

So this is my first venture into a single-speed and I couldn't be happier. My frame and fork built up nice, light and solid. I've heard aluminum frames can be harsh but not as far as I can tell. Yeah the ride is a little rougher than my full squishy but that's a given. I can honestly say I'm now hooked and I don't think I could of picked a better frame and fork to start off with.
And wouldn't you know, Misfit had to go and build a steel frame. Upgrade, no way. I'm just gunna build up a steel one.

I have to agree with Doug don't buy this frame its terrible. Super slow and awful looking. If your in South Florida especially don't buy it! I only have two and hate them both, super slow and ugly. Some how this post is not going to work! Great bike guys.
